Research

MISIT conducts research in the field of tissue-instrument-human interaction with the goal to improve diagnostic and therapeutic performance during minimally invasive interventions. The research focus is on mechanical interaction between tissue and instrument, mechanical design of instruments for effective signal transfer between tissue and human, and human-instrument interaction for (manual) control. Its research area covers the development of mechanical medical instruments, but also the human-instrument interaction from the clinician perspective.

Research fields

  • Mechanical design
  • Mechanical interaction
  • Human interaction
