Modulating liver regeneration: a challenge for the future

We are looking for a student who wants to dedicate his master research on a biomedical project focused on the development of a perfusion model, enabling modulation and regeneration of the liver outside the body. In this project the know-how of technical systems as provided by the Technical University Delft will be combined with the know-how on physiology and regeneration of organ systems present at the Erasmus MC.

The liver is an essential organ in the human body and needs to be replaced by transplantation if failure due to disease occurs. In order to solve the problem of organ shortage optimizing the quality of donor livers by inducing regeneration is the ultimate goal of this project.

If you are interested in this challenging project and are looking for further information, please contact a.dewolf@erasmusmc.nl and we will sent you additional information.
